Autocross is a safe and fun driving event where drivers zip and zag through a cone-lined course, one at a time, trying to get the best time possible. Because all cars (including non-Alfas) are welcome and everyone is on track alone and running at their own pace - it's very beginner friendly!
All participants are divided into three groups which rotate throughout the event; people driving, people working the course (resetting cones if their hit, etc.), and people resting.
It’s a good-vibe, friendly competition where everyone’s got a role!
This is one of the only competition events where a roll bar is NOT required for convertible "open" cars. All cars are welcome and there will be instructors for ride-alongs and pointers for beginners. All entrants must fill out a tech sheet for their car showing that it passes the safety requirements as stated in the Alfa Romeo Owner's Club National Moving Event Code section II A (see links above).
A helmet meeting the current or three previous Snell Foundation Standards for automobile or motorcycle use is required. (Snell M, K, or SA 2005*, 2010, 2015, or 2020.) Loaner helmets will be available at the track. Lunch is not provided at this event, but a list of local food options that offer delivery will be available.
Much thanks to Windy City Miata Club for their support.
